Alan Kydd

Open to Senior Backend (Go) roles and Full-Stack positions, as well as intermediate-level Clojure roles (remote), with a focus on APIs, distributed systems, and SaaS platforms.

I’m a Senior Software Engineer with 18 years of experience building backend systems and full-stack web applications across startups and large organizations.

My work focuses primarily on backend development, APIs, and cloud-based infrastructure. I have extensive experience designing and implementing services in Go and building systems that support SaaS products at scale.

Recently at Looka, I led backend architecture and development for major features of their platform, including Google Workspace integration and a website hosting platform built on AWS.

My core technologies include:

I’m particularly interested in backend architecture, distributed systems, and building tools that enable teams to move faster.

Outside of work I enjoy building side projects, including a 6502 CPU emulator and implementations of the RealWorld API in Go and Clojure.
