Lianne Lahaie

I am somewhat a Jill of all Trades since I have many diverse interests, hobbies and talents.

I began my career with a diploma in Print-Journalism from Algonquin College in Ottawa. I got my first job fresh out of college with the Carleton Place Canadian, a small community newspaper. I did everything from writing articles and columns to photography and darkroom work to designing and laying out newspaper pages.

My career in journalism spanned more than 15 years, during which time I was not only a journalist, but an editor as well. In addition to being a gifted writer, I am also a highly-skilled editor, proofreader and researcher.

I am an award-winning journalist, having won several Ontario Community Newspaper Awards and two first place Canadian Community Newspaper Awards.

I then went on to work in the public sector as an Administrative Assistant for a hospital in an eastern Ontario community. I worked in numerous departments including Quality, Patient Relations, the Project Management Office and Public Relations, to name a few. I did much more than just clerical work as my skills were put to use writing press releases about news and events; dealing with patient concerns and complaints and providing support to the Director of the Project Management Office during the hospital's redevelopment project.

I worked at the hospital for four years before transitioning into my current role as Legal and Access to Information and Privacy Coordinator at a Crown Corporation. Again this role is about more than just clerical work as I have drafted policies and procedures; drafted annual reports to Parliament; assisted in litigation reporting and many, many other tasks.

I work full time but am looking to put my unique and diverse skill set to use on other projects that are of interest. I am punctual, enthusiastic, professional and work well on my own with little to no supervision. I take pride in all of the work I do and can't wait to my skills to use on your project!
